Hot Rollerskating News Flippers Roller Boogie Palace At Rockefeller Center Opens Friday April 15

Its been a minute since Rollerskating had been a popular social gathering like it was in the late 70’s and 80’s so its quite exciting to see it gaining traction once again . You may think that having a rollerskating rink in Manhattan again is no big deal. Well let me just say the undertaking of running a professional rink is no small task and to make it a viable business with rent and property prices is a very big challenge indeed.
Saying that I’m excited about this is an understatement and feel privileged to be a big supporter of this effort. All of you who I have skated with in the past, Should at least support this monumental effort and check it out. Maybe I’ll see you there.

DJe Bangs Out a Beautiful Day of Skating

First I would like to thank the NYC Parks Dept for working feverishly to get our permit finalized and the 104th Precinct for working with us and keeping things under control. Juniper Valley Park is a very nice facility for us to skate in and the hockey rink was just recently redone with a beautiful smooth surface. This event was sponsored by me but it also takes a lot of effort from other people too. Thank you all for showing up on such a sort notice but that’s the nature of outdoor city events. We all had a really great afternoon and the sound was incredible. If there’s one thing DJe will not stand for it’s a poor sound system.

We also got great positive feedback from people who work to maintain the facility on how great the music was and how well it sounded, without disturbing anyone else in or outside the park. Those kind of comments can do wonders for putting on more of these events. So until the next time, support rollerskating any way you can and skate at your local skate rink.
